About me

A graduate in Fine Art, I am a Welsh artist who primarily works with oil on canvas but also enjoys experimenting with ink and sketching. Working from my garden studio, I endeavour to portray the natural unspoilt beauty of the Welsh landscape, inspired by a combined passion for nature and history.

Immersing myself in the atmosphere of the landscape I am painting, provides increased connection with the natural, physical environment, making me more mindful of my emotions, and giving me the opportunity to express them.

I prefer using flat brushes to create more energetic markings. I find this most effective when capturing bright, vibrant skies and textures in the landscape. For me this also makes the process of painting more enjoyable, I can have fun with the paint and express my creativity in a looser more unfettered approach. When painting skies I enjoy experimenting with vibrant colours and capturing sunsets.

I am currently undertaking a postgraduate masters in Arts, Health and Wellbeing. You can view my page ‘Art for Wellbeing’ for more information.
